Record Year – $17,000 raised for our community

We are very proud of your support of our community!  We’ve raised $17,000 this year!

Each year, free of charge, several thousand adults and children attend the glorious, twinkling display at the Grimsby Museum. The Fantasy of Trees raises money through a lottery of raffle ticket sales,  and with a silent auction.   Raffle tickets mean that the decorated trees and other holiday items are won by our Fantasy visitors and participants. Everyone wins!

Proceeds support local charities and Rotary causes, including local scholarships.  Our recipients are listed on our website.

Thanks to our lead sponsor Performance BMW and to our more than 100 sponsors who donated trees, wreaths, urn insets and raffle items to make this such a great success.

One of Our Trees

Monika Patterson is the Resource Developer of West Niagara Second Stage Housing & Counselling Inc.  She wrote us with this story:

“Last Holiday season, the Fantasy of Trees was very generous and donated a fully decorated tree to one of our residential clients.  This was particularly meaningful to her for several reasons.  She is the mom of 3 children under 12;  this was the first Christmas that she would be spending the day with them; and the first Christmas tree that they had ever had.  Her abuser had always forced her to work on Christmas day and never allowed them a tree.

The gift of that fully decorated tree was such an emotional and wonderful experience for her and her children that she kept the tree up and decorated until spring.  It was a reminder to her of her strength, her reason for being in our housing and it kept her going.  She is looking forward to putting it up again this year!”

We hope that you visit the Fantasy of Trees this year and support West Niagara Second Stage Housing & Counselling and all our recipient organizations with your purchase of lottery tickets.

The Special Olympics of Grimsby-Lincoln – One of our Recipients!

The Fantasy of Trees is a fantasy wonderland, but our goal to support local charities is real!  Here is one of our 2017 recipient organizations – the Special Olympics of Grimsby-Lincoln.

And in their words:

“It has been close to 10 years that Special Olympics was started in the Grimsby Lincoln area. It began with 5 very young athletes in one sport.

Today we offer 9 different sporting options throughout the year. Over 90 athletes benefit, physically, mentally and socially. Countless hours of volunteering has been provided and the athletes of Grimsby Lincoln have flourished.

The group and the local communities involved have celebrated sending various athletes to many provincial competitions, a few National athletes and one World competition since inception. We are confident with the support our athletes receive from our volunteers, coaches, families, our community and community service clubs such as Rotary, we will no doubt see more world competitions in the very near future.”  The Special Olympics, Grimsby Lincoln

Sponsor a Tree!

We are close to our goal of 42 trees!  Just a few more to go.  Would you like to sponsor a tree and decorate it?  It is a wonderful team activity for organizations and businesses.  If you don’t have time, Rotary will provide designers/decorators to decorate a tree that you sponsor.

AND, if you would like to decorate a sponsored tree, send us a note at – we are still looking for a few more designers/decorators.  It is lots of fun to do.
